Detail Itinerary
Day 1: Colombo
Day 2: Anuradhapura - Mihintale
After breakfast, travel to the ancient city of Anuradhapura, the first capital of Sri Lanka in the 3rd Century BC, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This city served as the royal capital for 119 successive Sinhalese kings until the year 1000 AD, when the capital was moved to Polonnaruwa.
Explore some of the most famous and tallest dagobas in Sri Lanka, along with remains of palaces, temples, monasteries, ceremonial baths, and the sacred Bo-tree, which grew from a sapling of the very tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment over 2,500 years ago.
Later, visit Mihintale, meaning “Mahinda’s Hill” in Sinhalese, named after the Buddhist monk who played a key role in introducing Buddhism to Sri Lanka in the 3rd century BC. This site, declared a wildlife sanctuary over 2,200 years ago, is considered one of the oldest protected sites in the world.

Day 3: Polonnaruwa - Minneriya - Sigiriya
After breakfast, drive to Polonnaruwa to explore the ancient monuments of this medieval capital, including palaces, temples, and statues that showcase Sri Lanka’s rich history.
In the afternoon, you can opt for a jeep safari at Minneriya National Park, where you may see over 50 wild elephants gathering near the reservoir as the sun sets, along with other wildlife such as sambar deer, monkeys, and water birds.

Day 4: Sigiriya Lion Rock - Village Tour - Pidurangala Rock
After breakfast, climb Sigiriya Lion Rock, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic landmarks, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding jungle and villages.
Later, take part in a popular village tour, where you can experience an oxen cart ride, a traditional catamaran safari, and a cooking demonstration of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, followed by a delicious village-style lunch.
In the afternoon, climb Piduragala Rock to witness a stunning sunset over the lush landscape.

Day 5: Dambulla - Kandy
After breakfast, drive to Kandy. En-route, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple (Golden Temple), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the Matale Ash Monastery and a Hindu temple.
Dambulla, a historic town in Sri Lanka, is renowned for its rock cave temple complex. The temple features stunning Buddha statues, intricate wall murals, and ancient paintings, showcasing the rich heritage and religious artistry of the island.

Day 6: Kandy
After breakfast, explore Kandy city. Visit the Kandy Lake, a scenic viewpoint, and the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden, famous for its exotic plants and orchids. Next, visit the Temple of the Tooth, one of Sri Lanka’s most sacred Buddhist sites. In the evening, enjoy a traditional cultural dance show.

Day 7: Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, drive up to the scenic mountain town of Nuwara Eliya, famous for its lush green tea plantations.
Visit a tea factory and learn about tea production, with the opportunity to buy some of the finest local teas. Next, explore the Seetha Temple in Seetha Eliya, believed to be the site where Sita was held captive by King Ravana in the Hindu epic Ramayana and prayed daily for Rama’s rescue. Across the stream, see the circular depressions said to be the footprints of Lord Hanuman.

Day 8: Ella - Yala National Park
After breakfast, drive to the scenic town of Ella. On the way, stop to take pictures of the stunning Ravana Falls. Continue your journey to Yala National Park for an exciting safari adventure. This experience brings you face-to-face with the wildlife of Sri Lanka—from leopards and elephants to exotic birds—offering unforgettable memories for nature lovers and first-time visitors alike.

Optional Train Journey:
If you prefer, instead of traveling by car, you can take the local train from Nuwara Eliya to Ella. The train journey takes about 4 hours and passes through lush green tea plantations, mountains, waterfalls, and beautiful landscapes, perfect for photography. Due to high demand, seating is not guaranteed. Upon arrival, our driver will meet you at Ella station.
Day 9: Mirissa - Coconet Hill
After breakfast, travel to Mirissa. On the way, stop at the scenic Coconut Tree Hill to enjoy the view and take photos.

Day 12: Colombo Drop Off
After hotel check-out, you will be dropped off at Colombo Airport or another central location in Colombo.
